About Ink!
Vernice Dainumeri (Vern) was the most respected artist in the entire world of Anchiano. The young prodigy created masterful works of astounding beauty for the people of the land. So wonderful were his works that it was said his very brushes and paints held within them the magic of creation, for no mere mortal could recreate the masterpieces Vern painted. In a utopian world of talented artists, a world of dazzling color, Vernice Dainumeri was at peace. However, one morning Vern awoke from his dream into a nightmare. His magnificent art studio had been destroyed, his prized paints devoured by an unseen terror. Everything -- his promising canvases, his painstakingly crafted tools -- had been shattered, leaving a single brush. His world, once a bastion of glorious color, had been stripped of its brilliance. From the depths of the monochromatic nether realms a sinister force had arisen. Under the dark banner of the failed artist Vincent van Jeff, a series of colorless creations had consumed the color from the world, and targeted the skills of Vern, scattering his paints to the far corners of the land. Without color, without art, the world of Anchiano began to die. Vern knew there was only one option. In the name of art, in the name of glorious creativity, he would repaint the brilliance into the world and defeat Vincent van Jeff.
Ink!, a 2D platformer / brawler, combines classic game genres in a unique manner. In Ink everything is black and white; color has been stripped from every corner of the world. Vern, an aspiring young artist, is out to use the talents he has learned for one mission: to repaint the world. Vern will have to travel through 16 levels and 4 worlds to accomplish this feat. Everything in the Ink world has been hand drawn by our artists, including all of the art assets and animations. Ink is a cross-genre game that blends platforming and brawling like never before. Based on the Torque Game Builder engine, this project isn't a one-off student hack job, but a complete project ready for publication, pulling together the talents of a diverse crew of students and creating fresh, original content from the ground up.
